All You Need to Know about Walker Ultra Hold Glue and How to Use
There are so many different kinds of glues on the toupee market. Which one is the best for me? Well, today we are going to talk about Walker Ultra Hold Glue and you can check whether this is the one you are looking for.
Works for All Base Hair Systems
First of all, it can work for all kinds of hair system bases including lace, skin, poly, combined bases, etc.
Walker ultra hold glue is skin safe, so it can be used directly onto the scalp. However, we highly recommend you do an allergy test before you apply it onto your skin especially if you have sensitive skin.
Firstly, clean your scalp thoroughly with 99% Alcohol, then apply a thin layer of scalp protector onto the scalp. After this, you can use a sponge brush to apply an even, thin coat of ultra hold glue onto the scalp. Blow dry until tacky. Repeat once more, then press hair system onto scalp, firmly holding for 10 seconds.
Walker ultra hold is an acrylic-based glue. Acrylic-based glue means when you clean it, you need to use solvent. Compared to Acrylic base glue, there is water-based glue. With water-based glue, you can use water to wash it out. So acrylic glue can offer longer and more secure bonding for your toupee.
Walker ultra hold is considered one of the most reliably long-lasting holds on the market.
When people use ultra hold glue, they usually don’t use it on the whole base. Instead, they will only use it on the perimeter and a water-based glue-like Great White or Ghost Bond in the center.
The reason why they attach it this way is that the ultra hold glue in perimeter provides a very secure attachment so you won’t have lifting edges within at least 2 weeks' time. However, because it is not easy to be removed compared to water-based glue, people choose to use a water-based glue in the center of the base to make the clean up much easier.
4+ Weeks Hold Time
Walker ultra hold glue can provide 4+ weeks time bonding. However, it cannot hold for 4 weeks in most cases because some people have oily skin while some sweat a lot or swim frequently. Also we don’t recommend you keep one bonding for more than 2 weeks because the glue residue plus the build-ups will be very hard to be cleaned if you keep it on for more than 2 weeks.
Walker ultra hold glue is waterproof, so you can wear it swimming, taking shower, etc and no need to worry the bond becomes loose.
As mentioned above, the ultra hold glue is acrylic based. So when you remove the hair system, you need to use a solvent to do that. For a lace hair system, before you remove the hair system, firstly spray lace release onto the hair roots and where there is ultra hold glue on the other side of the base to break the bond. After you removed it, use C22 solvent to remove glue residue off the base and your scalp. For a skin base, you can use C22 directly and start from the back and lift the base up while you are spraying C22 solvent.
