Traveling with a Hair System: Essential Tips for Stress-Free Trips

Today, let’s talk about what I pack when I travel.

First things first, when traveling for longer than a week-it’s crucial to be fully prepared. One essential consideration is taking a spare hair system with you if you have one available. For me, I’ll be bringing my Tyler system as a backup alongside my ultra-thin skin system. The Tyler offers better breathability, which is perfect for the hot climate I’ll be in.

Now, not everyone can afford two systems, and that’s understandable. But if you have an ultra-thin skin system, be extra cautious as they’re more delicate and prone to tearing. As for other essentials, I’ll be carrying them in a C3 bag for easy access during security checks. Let’s unpack what’s inside:

tape

Strips of tape for convenience, as they don’t require scissors.
Glue for both my ultra-thin skin and Tyler systems. I’m taking extra precautions after a previous mishap at security.
Leave-in conditioner, decanted for travel convenience.
Hair brushes for maintenance.
Scalp protector is still undecided due to its messiness.
Hair clips for holding the system away from the scalp while glue dries.

I anticipate needing one rebond over the two weeks, especially with the heat and sweat in the Caribbean. That’s why I’m prepared with extra glue and cotton balls for cleanup. I’ll skip bringing isopropyl alcohol to minimize liquid items in my luggage.

For cleanup, I’ll use the bath in our room and my clippers to shave any growing biohair under the system. With these essentials, I’m confident I’ll be set for the entire trip.

In summary, if you can afford it, bring a backup system—it’s a great insurance policy. Otherwise, be extra cautious with your system. Invest in a C3 bag for convenience, and make sure you have all the necessary accessories for maintenance.

Now, onto a challenge for you: guess where I’m honeymooning in the Caribbean! Leave your answers in the comments below.
