It is so complicated when it comes to choosing a bonding method for your hair replacement system. There are different brands of glues and tapes on the market and each has a different appearance. Let us make it easy for you. Today we are going to talk about the difference between white Ghost Bond and clear Walker Ultra Hold.

Ghost Bond

white bond

Ghost Bond is a copolymer white bond which is waterproof and oil-resistant and it is designed for hot weather and oily skin. The formula doesn’t contain latex or toxic ingredients, so it is 100% safe for your skin. One selling point of Ghost bond is that it is hypoallergenic.

Walker ultra hold is Acrylic based. The ingredients contain Isopropanol, Ethyl Acetate, Heptane and Toluene. It is clear when dry. It Cleans up quickly for a liquid adhesive and one of the most reliably long-lasting holds on the market, which can last you 4+ weeks.  It has a urethane carrier that is extra stretchy, making it comfortable to wear and great for flexible lace base materials. It also features our ‘fingerprint’ textured pattern to reduce shine. The liner is white but the actual tape is clear.

Difference between Ghost Bond and Walker Ultra Hold

So what is the difference between these two when people use them. Based on our customers feedbacks, I summarized the differences as below:

Ghost bond is designed to be hypoallergenic. However, it doesn’t mean all of the people on the planet won’t have allergies to it because people have different body chemistry and they can be allergic to anything. But comparatively speaking, Ghost bond is considered to be safer to use. So if this is the first time you use a hair system and you can consider Ghost Bond. Of course, before applying it onto your scalp, you also need to do an allergy test.

Ghost Bond goes on to the skin or scalp white and as it dries becomes clear and extreme heat will turn it back to white.  By the extreme heat, it means like in a super hot summer day and you work outside for an hour or more, the glue will turn white again.

Walker ultra hold is also a famous bond that people use a lot. It is an acrylic based adhesive. Walker ultra hold really does it job well when it comes to a good and long time bonding. It doesn’t turn white when there is extreme heat and it still bonds really well even in extremely hot weather or you sweat a lot when you exercising. Walker ultra hold can last you at least 4 weeks.

One con about Walker ultra hold is that it is not so easy to be cleaned. It can be very messy clean.

Generally speaking, these two bonds are both very popular for people who wear hair systems and each has its own advantages and disadvantages and you also need to experience it yourself to find out the best fit glue for yourself. You really need to try to find out.
