How to Dry Your Toupee Hair System

Men’s hair systems are usually worn for a few weeks after they’ve been applied. Inevitably they need to be washed in this time. This brings us to drying your hair system. Your hair system should be dried in the correct way to prolong its lifespan.

The hair on a hair system is either knotted, v-looped or injected onto the base, thus, it has lost the natural oil nutrition from the scalp, so the hair itself is already prone to dryness. So, you should be cautious when drying your hair system. In today’s article, we are going to share with you the correct ways to dry your hair system after washing.

Step One: Dry the Hair System Using A Towel

When you get out of the shower, cover your hair system with a dry towel and press the towel on the hair to absorb as much water as possible. A microfiber towel is best. Do not rub or pull the hair system. This also works when you remove your hair system and just done cleaning it. Don't use a hair dryer as much as possible, because it will damage your hair and make it dry.

Step Two: Comb Out Tangles Gently Using a Wide Tooth Comb

Spray a leave-in conditioner onto the hair and use a wide tooth comb to comb out any tangles very gently.

Step Three: Low-setting Blow Drying the Hair

Dryness and heat are the top factors for damaging a hair system, shortening a hair systems life as well as shedding. To protect your hair from heat, we recommend you airdry your hair system and don’t blow dry it if it’s not necessary. If you want it to dry quickly and want to blow dry it, opt for the cool setting on the blow-dryer.

Before you blow dry the hair, apply a heat protection spray to the hair first to protect it. When you blow dry the hair, blow the hair in the same direction and don’t mess with the hair too much. Of course, the best way is to let your hair dry naturally without using any tools

Step Four: Blow Drying the Hair System Base

This step is suitable for when you remove a lace hair system and get it cleaned. If you want your hair system to dry quicker and don’t want to wait for it to airdry, turn the hair base up and pin it onto a Styrofoam head. Blow dry the lace base to make sure it is totally dry. When you do this, you should keep the blow dryer set on cool setting and avoid using heat because the hair is knotted onto the base. Extra heat will damage the knots then causing shedding problem.

After  the hair system is totally dry, please do use leave-in conditioner to keep the hair always in a good condition. Also you can use some styling oils or clay to keep your hair in a fashionable style.
