How to Prevent Scalp Build Up Effectively?

If you shake your head and lots of white flakes are falling down on your shoulders, it's high time to look for scalp build up removal ideas. While being insignificant and inoffensive at first sight, scalp build-up can evolve into a serious threat if left untreated. Luckily, there are a lot of home remedies and special hair product treatments out there that pledge to help you get rid of these tiny culprits that keep your scalp sick and slow down hair growth. In this article, we want to show you how to effectively eliminate scalp residue in two simple steps.

Step 1. Removal

First things first, you have to stand up to the harmful build up and deal it a fatal blow. We recommend you to do it using a proven remedy made up of salicylic acid and coconut oil that is said to work wonders at removing all kinds of nasties from the scalp. Here are the directions you need to follow.

1. Wash your hair, preferably with shampoo based herbs or other all-natural ingredients.

2. Apply 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, spreading it evenly on the entire scalp. Consider applying some force to ensure better access of oil to the stuck residue.

3. Allow for 30 minutes for the scalp to soak well with the oil.

4. Move on to the salicylic acid. Apply some drops using a pipette on patches of the scalp that are most affected by the build-up and thinning hair.

5. Let the acid stay on for 10 minutes.

6. Rinse out using lukewarm water. While being washed away from the scalp, the salicylic acid patches will also take with them the accumulated nasties, including dandruff, dead skin cell flakes, hair product leftovers and pollutants that attach to your scalp while you are exposed to a pollution-affected environment.

7. Repeat the procedure if you notice that some patches of stubborn sebum and residue still refuse to leave the scalp. However, considering the intense formula of salicylic acid, you are recommended to do the repeated procedure after about 24 hours from the first application.

Benefits

The main residue removing agent is salicylic acid. But as long as it contains alcohol that can dry the skin, it is reasonable to add some coconut oil which will moisturize the skin while the acid is doing its job.

Step 2. Cleansing

Once you are done with the build up removal procedure, you can move on to the second part. Here you are tasked with keeping the residue away for good by deeply cleansing the scalp. Most of the build up is brought about by ineffective cleaning or lack of cleaning. This is why a deep cleanse will put your scalp back on track and keep white flakes at bay for long. For this, you need a homemade shampoo that you can prepare following the steps below:

Ingredients

· Apple cider vinegar

· Baking soda

· Tea tree oil

1. Combine 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar and 1 tablespoon baking soda. The two ingredients will react, but you can stir a bit to intensify the reaction.

2. Then add 2 drops of tea tree oil and mix well.

3. Before application, you can shake the bottle one more time to ensure that all ingredients are properly mixed.

4. Apply the mixture on the scalp, using a circular motion. You can press the scalp with your fingers while spreading the mixture to improve the effectiveness of the cleanse.

5. Rinse using warm water.

Benefits

The vinegar and baking soda tandem make up for a wonderful scrubbing agent that reaches out to the tiniest particles of product residue and sebum build up stuck to your scalp, removing them for good and unblocking clogged follicles leading to the revival of the hair growth process. The tea tree oil has the role of absorbing the excess acidity of the vinegar and moisturize the scalp while preventing further accumulation of nasties.

To conclude, scalp build up removal has to take place as soon as you notice the first flakes falling down from your scalp and the hair growing slower. To ensure that you get rid of product residue for good, you can choose a two-step treatment. It involves a removal stage, featuring a combination of salicylic acid and coconut oil, which is followed by a deep cleanse stage, where a mixture of apple cider vinegar, baking soda and tea tree oil is applied to eliminate the toughest build up left and protect the scalp from future accumulations of residue.
